San Francisco Beach Water Quality
Caution: From September 29 through October 1, 2026, the SFPUC will be conducting maintenance work affecting Islais Channel, which may stir up sediments at the bottom of the Channel that may contain naturally occurring bacteria and other pollutants. The SFPUC and San Francisco Department of Public Health are advising against water contact recreation in and around Islais Channel during this time as a precaution.
